A composite Nickel-Iron-Aluminum self-bonding powder specially formulated to be a good general purpose self-bonding powder which has a high bond strength and superior machinability due to a high percentage of Iron in it. It also has high wear and oxidation resistance. Similar to our PA #11 it undergoes an exothermic reaction during spraying. Coatings of PA #1118 are dense and can be used for high temperature applications up to 1500degF. Typical applications are miss-machined and worn parts, machine bed ways, press fits, exhaust valve seats, etc.
